Jonathon Naylor Editor The health authorities serving Creighton and Flin Flon are working together to better patient care. That was the message Creighton Town Council heard last week in an e-mail from Andrew McLetchie, CEO of northern Saskatchewan's Mamawetan Churchill River Health Region. After meeting with town council in September, McLetchie said he sat down with the leadership of northern Manitoba's Northern Health Region. He said the two sides talked about seniors' housing and long-term care _ two key areas of concern for council _ as well as nurse practitioner services. McLetchie called this 'part of (a) process' of starting to work with the Northern Health Region 'to improve interprovincial services.' He said he wants to connect with council about the discussions as the Northern Health Region 'is working on some service delivery plans that take into account the needs on the Saskatchewan side of their service delivery area.' The Flin Flon General Hospital and its medical clinic serve hundreds of Saskatchewan residents from Creighton, Denare Beach, Pelican Narrows, Sandy Bay and Deschambault Lake.
