A woman from Flin Flon is facing several charges after allegedly kidnapping another woman early Friday morning.
According to Manitoba RCMP, officers from the Flin Flon detachment were called around 3 a.m. June 3 to an attempted kidnapping at a home in Flin Flon.
Police say that shortly before 2:50 a.m., a 57-year-old woman was at her home when another woman - who RCMP said was known to the woman - came to the home, got inside and threatened the woman in her home, grabbing a knife from inside the home and demanding money. The victim was allegedly forced by the suspect to drive to a bank and take out money, then drive to another home in Flin Flon.
After arriving at the second home, the victim fled and called police. The victim was not physically injured in the incident.
Once police were called, the alleged attacker was arrested - Flin Flon RCMP have not provided a name for the accused, but have identified her as a 37-year-old woman from Flin Flon.
The 37-year-old faces six charges, including robbery, kidnapping, breaking and entering, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and mischief, in relation to the incident. The woman's first appearance in court is unknown.
RCMP are continuing to investigate the incident. None of the charges have been proven in court.
