A few changes are being made to the Bust the Winter Blues Festival to ensure it is around for many more years to come.
In years past, the festival has offered a nearly free family dance, along with multiple free activities at the Rotary Wheel, including sleigh rides, snowshoe races and a baking contest.
While the Rotary Wheel events will remain free, the annual Mardi Gras Family Fun Night will now charge a minimal cost per person rather than a flat family rate as in years past.
The increase in cost is to account for the rising expenses associated with the festival and a dwindling bank account.
The family dance will no longer provide a free snack, but will offer a concession at the Creighton Community Hall in accordance to its price list.
The Bust the Winter Blues Festival will continue to offer free events at the Rotary Wheel as well as the annual Kinette Trivia Night, a card and cribbage tournament, a pancake breakfast and many other family-friendly events.
The March 6-8 festival will continue to host its annual family fishing derby and welcome back the Frozen Aces Poker Derby with the Border Explorers Snowmobile Club.
The Bust the Winter Blues Festival has been a family favourite for many to spend a weekend participating in fun activities.
The festival has been around for years and the committee hopes to see it flourish for years to come.
