I would just to clarify a few things about the upcoming Willow Park Curling Club meeting. The reason the original meeting of Tuesday, August 3, was changed to Wednesday, August the 4, was because of the RCMP Musical Ride being held on the Tuesday night. It was felt that many of the curlers would be attending that event and would miss the meeting. There are not two meetings being held! The request of the special general meeting of the Willow Park Curling Club is to challenge the vote of the Spring 2004 meeting to move to the Uptown Curling Club. Some of the club members are apparently not fully aware of all the costs involved to: - make repair to the Willow Park building; - mothball Willow Park for one year; - help the Uptown Curling Club renovate locker rooms to accommodate the extra curlers from Willow Park. A petition has been circulated and signed by several curlers, some of whom have been at Willow Park almost since its beginning. The petition stated that some of the membership feel there is more than enough support to sustain Willow Park. The motion at the upcoming meeting will be to repair Willow Park and to continue curling at the present facility until such time as the new Communityplex is in operation. If anyone has any more to add to this situation, please make your feelings known at the meeting.
