Manitoba's official opposition is accusing the NDP government of squandering record transfer payments from Ottawa. 'The NDP had success handed to it, and despite record revenues and record transfers from Ottawa, the NDP still can't make ends meet,' said Progressive Conservative Leader Brian Pallister. 'This is a government with an insatiable appetite to spend money, and tax at an unsustainable level.' The PCs say the last time they formed government, federal transfers never went above $2 billion, and for the NDP have never gone below $2 billion. Transfer payments to Manitoba have been above $3.5 billion since 2008 and have not dropped below that mark, says the opposition party.
