People worldwide will be able to learn more about one of the Flin Flon area's treasured outdoor destinations. Local resident Rick Robillard, with the help of his nephew Daniel Bradnam of Calgary, have begun piecing together a Web site dedicated to Camp Whitney. "I know that people who log on are really going to appreciate what they see," said Brenda Russell, director of Flin Flon Parks and Recreation, which oversees Camp Whitney. "Hopefully, that generates more interest among potential users." The site, still under construction, is located at: camp-whitney.tk Enjoyed by hundreds of campers each year, Camp Whitney is about a 20-minute boat ride from the government dock on Lake Athapap. Established by HBMS in the 1940s, the camp was operated by community groups up until the late 1970s, when the City took over operations. The Rotary Club of Flin Flon has been a big supporter of the camp, with members taking part in weekend work bees there each summer since 1999.
