A Green St. man is blaming excessive water pressure for "wreaking havoc" in his neighbourhood. In a letter reviewed by city council Tuesday, the man detailed pipe erosion, water line breaks and short-lived hot water tanks, writing that the problems stem from an overly strong water pressure level. He said he has been told that a booster pump is being used at the pump station near the Aqua Centre "to supplement the existing antiquated pumps to allow for an adequate supply of water" to Prince Charles Place. "While this may solve a low water pressure problem in that area, it is wreaking havoc in my neighbourhood," he wrote. Coun. Cal Huntley stated that the City is working with professionals toward "a resolution and study of the circulation, water pressure and flows of all water" leaving the pump station in question. "So we'll get the numbers, we'll be able to make some educated decisions on what's actually going on," he said.
