Jonathon Naylor Editor The future of a potential Flin Flon branch of Habitat for Humanity may hinge on an organizational meeting this week. The renowned not-for-profit corporation, which provides new homes to low-income families, is hoping to expand into the city. Following an informational meeting earlier this month, Habitat's Steve Krahn said it is now up to the community to decide whether that happens. Interested volunteers are encouraged to attend a meeting this Thursday, March 1 at the Community Futures Greenstone office (above Pharmasave). It begins at 7 p.m. While the onus is on individual communities to start and operate their own Habitat branches, the Manitoba head office provides assistance such as accounting, construction knowledge and donated housing materials.
