RCMP are investigating a violent robbery in Swan River. Last Tuesday, April 10, at about 7:30 p.m., Mounties responded to a complaint of a robbery that had just occurred on 4th Avenue south, near Main Street. Their investigation indicated that an adult male had been assaulted by two unidentified males who then made off with personal property belonging to the victim. The suspects were last seen running west, across the street, and across the railroad tracks. The first suspect is described as a male in his early 20s. Wearing a grey sweater, he stood about 6 ft. tall with a stocky build. The second suspect was possibly in his 20s with a slender build. Standing about 5 ft. 10 in., he was wearing a red sweater and a black and red ball cap. The victim received minor injuries, but did not require medical treatment. No further information was available last week as police continued to investigate. They ask anyone with information to call the Swan River RCMP at 204-734-3454 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
