A teenager injured in a recent downtown ATV accident remained in hospital in stable condition on Wednesday, RCMP said.

Police described the 17-year-old male youth’s injuries as serious but non-life-threatening.

The teen was hurt when an ATV he was on struck a car at the intersection of Main Street and Third Avenue the night of Sunday, Aug. 3.

The other individual on the ATV, a 19-year-old man from Thompson, subsequently succumbed to the injuries he sustained.

Investigate

RCMP continue to investigate the accident and as of Wednesday had yet to establish whether alcohol was a factor.

Initial police investigation indicated the ATV was travelling north on Main Street when it struck a midsize sedan heading east on Third Avenue.

The driver of the sedan was treated for non-life-threatening injuries while the lone passenger was not hurt.
