Another incident of mischief on Main Street has a business owner upset. Over the weekend, a or more persons sprayed colourful silly string on the fronts of at least four businesses. The canned substance, often used at children's parties, was found on windows and embedded in the stucco of one building. A business owner who requested anonymity said incidents such as this suggest that Main Street needs to be patrolled more often by law enforcement. The business owner also worried that this incident, combined with past episodes of vandalism, may serve as a disincentive for people to invest in Main Street. Last summer and fall, more serious incidents of vandalism were reported on Main Street, including the destruction of a cement bench and a decorative fence.
