Repairs to the Northern Lights Manor are part of a multi-million dollar funding announcement by the provincial government.

Upgrades will be made to the building’s management system headend. The cost will be less than $150,000.

The manor upgrade was part of a funding announcement by the provincial government on Feb. 26. An estimated $30 million in upgrades was distributed to health facilities across the province. More than 120 projects were announced in total.

Upgrades for facilities in Snow Lake, The Pas and Thompson will also be coming through the newly announced funding.

Fire safety upgrades at Snow Lake Health Centre will now take place, along with water booster replacement at The Pas Health Complex and a host of updates to Thompson General Hospital, including mould remediation, a water booster upgrade, roof replacement and vacuum pump upgrades and replacement.

Each of the projects is estimated to cost more than $150,000.

Smaller-scale projects with price tags under $150,000 include replacing carbon monoxide detectors at Gillam Hospital, upgrading sliding doors at Thompson General Hospital and plumbing repairs at Rosaire House, an addiction treatment centre in The Pas. A make-up air unit replacement will also be conducted at the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba facility in Thompson.

All Northern Health Region facilities will also undergo roof assessments as part of the announcement.
