Flin Flon RCMP are continuing their investigation into an unknown man accused of inappropriately touching a seven-year-old girl near the 100 Stairs last week.

Cpl. Stacy Wiens said Monday afternoon the investigation was still underway with no new details to report.

Police received a report of the incident last Thursday, July 23 at about 6:15 pm.

RCMP said their initial investigation revealed the man took the victim by the hand and physically restrained her in a secluded part of a residential area before touching her in a sexual manner.

Witnesses in the area reported they might have scared the suspect, allowing the girl to get free and run home. She did not suffer any physical injuries, police said.

The suspect walked away in an unknown direction. An extensive search of the area failed to locate him.

The suspect is described as an Aboriginal male between the ages of 30 and 40. He has blue eyes, dark brown skin, and hair on his chin with black hair in a long braid. He was wearing black pants, black shoes and a ball cap.

RCMP are asking anyone with information to contact the Flin Flon RCMP at 204-687-1423 or Crime Stoppers (anonymously) at 1-800-222-8477.
