The Reminder received a call from a concerned mom, whose son had fallen through the ice at Ross Lake on Wednesday while walking across it. She said he was quite a ways away from the culvert when the ice gave way. According to the RCMP, a snowmobile also went through the ice in the same area the next day, on Thursday. RCMP are warning people that, even though the weather has been cold, the ice near any open or moving water is unsafe. Fortunately no one was seriously hurt in either incident.
