Wal-Mart employees in Thompson have voted on the issue of unionization, but the results aren't expected for another two to six weeks. About 140 workers at the store were eligible to vote Friday on whether to join the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 832. A majority in favour would turn the Thompson store into the first unionized Wal-Mart in North America. Friday marked the second time in less than a year that the United Food and Commercial Workers held a vote for Thompson Wal-Mart employees. Last August, the 'no' side won by the narrow margin of 61-54.
