Truck winner makes one chance count

Charlene Rutley’s best Christmas present couldn’t fit under the tree. The friendly Flin Flon nurse was the lucky winner of a Ford F-150 truck in the Lions Club’s holiday draw. “I’ve never won anything, so this is a real shock,” said Rutley.

The friendly Flin Flon nurse was the lucky winner of a Ford F-150 truck in the Lions Club’s holiday draw.
“I’ve never won anything, so this is a real shock,” said Rutley. “It’s a beautiful truck.”
Rutley purchased just one ticket for the glistening white truck, valued at $42,849.
“It’s very well-equipped,” said Colby McConnell, sales manager at Northland Ford, which sold the vehicle to the Lions.
The Lions were 39 tickets shy of selling all 3,500 tickets for the truck. The club expects to turn a profit of $25,000 to $30,000.
The draw was broadcast live on CFAR at 3 p.m. on Christmas Day.
