Trottier, McBratney join Denare council

Denare Beach village council has two new members following a by-election Wednesday. Paul Trottier and Greg McBratney were elected to council with 94 (64 per cent) and 79 (53 per cent) votes respectively.

Paul Trottier and Greg McBratney were elected to council with 94 (64 per cent) and 79 (53 per cent) votes respectively.

 

Running unsuccessfully were former councillor Wanda Ginnell with 65 votes (44 per cent) and Elfriede Reimer with 31 votes (21 per cent).

 

The by-election saw 149 voters cast ballots, with one spoiled ballot.

 

Council was left with two vacancies following the resignation of councillors Joanne Burkholder and Davis McKay a week apart in December.
