Firefighters who have lost their lives or been injured in the line of duty will be honoured tomorrow outside the Flin Flon Fire Hall. In conjunction with National Firefighters Week, the tribute ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on what will be the second anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, which claimed the lives of hundreds of firefighters. "I feel this is important because firefighters all across Canada put their lives at risk to help others," said Fire Chief Jim Petrie. "Firefighting is an extremely dangerous profession to be in." The ceremony will also honour police and ambulance personnel who have lost their lives or been hurt while on the job. Special recognition will also be given to the thousands of firefighters who have fought raging forest fires in Canada over the past few months. Petrie invites everyone to attend.
