And you thought your Christmas tree had outlived its usefulness. Organizers of the upcoming sled dog races are asking people to drop off their trees alongside Ross Lake near Longmore Avenue. They will be used as trail markers for the races, which will be held on the lake this February. "We generally go through hundreds of trees to line the trail, so if people could drop them off, that would be very much appreciated," said Jason Mandes, program events coordinator for the Flin Flon Friendship Centre. As of yesterday afternoon, three trees had been transferred from living rooms to the lake side, bright tinsel still clinging to some branches. The sled dog races will be held Feb. 12 as part of the Second Annual Bust the Winter Blues Festival.
