Three men are facing attempted murder charges after a break-in and severe assault at Aspen Grove over the weekend.

Flin Flon RCMP were called to the Aspen Grove apartment complex shortly after midnight Feb. 19 after receiving a report of people fighting. When police arrived, they found a 53-year-old man who had been severely injured and two other people, a 51-year-old woman and an 18-year-old woman, also suffering from injuries. The 53-year-old man was taken to hospital with what RCMP called "life-threatening injuries" - the two women were treated at the scene.

On investigation, RCMP learned that several people had forced their way into the home, leading to the three people being assaulted.

Police tracked suspects to another apartment within Aspen Grove and arrested three males in relation to the attack, seizing weapons inside, including a machete.

All three males - identified by Manitoba RCMP as 26-year-old Hudson Bighetty, 23-year-old Hawkins Bighetty and 24-year-old Triston Bear - have been arrested and charged with attempted murder. All three remain in police custody. Court dates for the three are not currently known.

RCMP are investigating the incident further. None of the charges have yet been proven in court.
