RCMP members searched Thompson's R.D. Parker Collegiate high school thoroughly this past Sunday and planned to be present at the school Monday after a written threat was found in one of the high school's washrooms last Friday. The threat bore Friday's date and mentioned Monday as the date the events would take place, according to a letter and phone message sent to students' parents on Friday. 'Although the RCMP deems the threat to be low, we are taking this threat seriously and are taking all precautions to insure the safety of our students and staff,' read the letter from RDPC's acting principal Wally Itson. Students were given the option of staying home from school today as a precaution. _ Ian Graham, Thompson Citizen
