Residents of Thompson are in shock after a group of youths savagely attacked a disabled man last week. No arrests have been made, but RCMP believe Peter Ross, 55, was beaten by six or seven youths last Friday not far from the group home where he lived. Ross, who had physical and mental disabilities, was flown to a Winnipeg hospital to reportedly undergo surgery for a broken jaw and eye socket. "The community's just tore right up," Sharon Canning, assistant manager of an employment training centre for the disabled, told the Canadian Press. Anyone with information on the incident is being asked to contact the proper authorities.
