Flin Flon RCMP are reminding residents to secure their homes at all times after a second home invasion this month was reported in the uptown area. At about 1 a.m. last Thursday, September 18, someone entered an uptown residence and made off with a purse while the occupant was asleep. Cpl. Leslie Beck of the Flin Flon RCMP said the incident concerns her, but stressed that it is not an indication of an epidemic. She advised that residents keep their doors locked and exercise caution. Police have at least one suspect in the incident but are encouraging anyone with information to contact them at 687-7488 or the anonymous Crimestoppers line at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Earlier this month, police reported that a thief made off with a "significant amount" of cash from another home in the uptown area. No one was in the house at the time of the robbery, which occurred sometime between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. on September 6. At least two other similar crimes have been reported in the Green Street area and the Tweedsmuir Street area over the past year.
