Teacher sentenced, employment help

A selection of northern news briefs

A former high school drama teacher in Thompson has been sentenced to 22 months in prison for charges related to child pornography, sexual interference and breaching a recognizance.

David Boyce pleaded guilty earlier this month to all five charges he faced. The sexual interference and child pornography charges date back to 2012 while the breach charges stem from his contacting the woman with whom he had a sexual relationship while she was a student and he was a teacher at R.D. Parker Collegiate.

That relationship led to the charge of sexual interference. Boyce resigned as a teacher in March 2012.
