The Elks Hall was the place to be Saturday afternoon. About 150 people stopped by the Order of the Royal Purple's Annual Pansy Tea, complete with baked goods, raffles and, of course, some good old fashioned conversation. Royal Purple Honoured Royal Lady Therese Wheeler said the turnout was below average for the tea, probably due in part to the icy weather, but she was pleased with how things went. Volunteers from the local Rebekah lodges and the Elks Club were on hand to help out, as were students from Hapnot Collegiate. Proceeds from the tea will stay with the Royal Purple, which supports a number of charities, the largest of which is the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children.
