The official opposition says the Manitoba government has failed to meet the targets of its own green legislation and is spinning the truth in a new 'progress report.' Manitoba PC Conservation Critic Larry Maguire says the NDP's west-side BiPole III transmission line will add over 350,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions to Manitoba's total emissions. He said the route will also waste $300 million in clean hydro power due to line losses on the longer route. The PCs support building BiPole III down the shorter west-side route. Maguire says if the province truly cared about climate change, it would review the 'disastrous decision to force the new hydro line down the longer, more wasteful west side of the province.'
