RCMP have seized marijuana, prescription pills and illicit cash from a home in Swan River. In the early evening hours of Friday, July 22, Swan River RCMP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on the residence. They seized was just over 30 grams of marijuana, 480 prescription pills in various weights, along with just over $3,500 in Canadian currency. As of press time, RCMP were still tallying the street value of the drugs seized. A 53-year-old Swan River woman has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime. She has been released on a recognizance to appear on August 17 in Swan River Provincial Court. In addition, a 48-year-old man from Prince Albert will also be facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana). He has been released on a recognizance to also appear August 17 in Swan River Provincial Court. As of press time, the charge had yet to be formally laid. Police said their investigation continues.
