A Pelican Narrows man charged with murdering his uncle will make his next court appearance March 20. Thurston Jack Thomas, 24, appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Tuesday, at which time his case was remanded, News Talk 650 CKOM reports. Thomas' case was brought to Prince Albert because he had outstanding matters in the city, reports the radio station. He is charged with second-degree murder in the death of his uncle, John James Ballantyne, 39, also of Pelican Narrows. Police say Thomas and Ballantyne were snowmobiling between Pelican Narrows and a camp outside Creighton when Ballantyne suffered fatal injuries. He was taken to the Flin Flon General Hospital on Feb. 23 but subsequently died.
