The official opposition is accusing the NDP government of failing Manitoba students after results showed the province scored last in assessment for science, reading and math.
The results come from the latest Pan-Canadian Assessment Program (PCAP), which compares student achievement across the provinces.
“These results should send shockwaves through anyone who values education as much as I do,” said Brian Pallister, leader of the Progressive Conservatives.
Earlier this week, the NDP announced a new multi-pronged educational strategy designed to improve student outcomes.
Education Minister James Allum also pointed out that 86 per cent of Manitoba students are meeting or exceeding expectations.
