Some students from Many Faces Education Centre traded in their pens and textbooks for paintbrushes yesterday. Students from the Recreational Leadership class spent their afternoon staining the border of the skating rink on South Hudson Street. "We really appreciate the students' interest and their support in helping us," said Flin Flon Director of Recreation Brenda Russell. Graham Garrett, who instructs the course, said he saw the project as a good opportunity for his students to volunteer their time for the benefit of local recreation. The City of Flin Flon provided the students with the stain and brushes for the work. The rink, built in 2000, is among the more popular local destinations for recreational hockey players of various ages.
