The Creighton School Board's decision to proceed with a high school won't impact its French Immersion partnership with the Flin Flon School Division. The approximately 20 Creighton and Denare Beach students who attend French Immersion at McIsaac School Ecole McIsaac will continue to do so, Creighton board Chairman Terry Brown said. "For us to set up a French Immersion program, it wouldn't be worth it for us to even attempt to do it," said Brown. "They have a good kindergarten through to grade 8 French Immersion program in Flin Flon." There had been some confusion among parents about the future of the French Immersion partnership. Another misconception, Brown said, is that some of the nearly 80 courses listed in the high school feasibility report would be offered through correspondence. He said that's not the case, as the courses, including high level offerings like calculus, physics and chemistry, will be offered in classrooms, even if the enrollments are small.
