Nearly nine out of every ten Manitoba Liquor Control Commission employees favours a strike, the Winnipeg Free Press reported yesterday. The 500 unionized employees voted for the strike over the weekend after the union and the MLCC failed to find common ground at the bargaining table, union president Peter Olfert told the newspaper. Olfert said no strike deadline has been set and added that he hoped a deal could be reached when the two sides meet today. The union is reportedly displeased with benefits and wages for employees who are not full-time. The union is still working under a contract that expired last March, according to the Free Press.
