Police blame a propane stove for the fire that spread to a Sherridon man's clothing and left him with serious burns last month. Cranberry Portage RCMP said the man's garments caught fire while he was in the vicinity of the propane stove in the trailer in which he lived. As of Saturday, three weeks after the incident, the man remained in Winnipeg's Health Sciences Centre in stable condition, police said yesterday. Police credited a quick-thinking neighbour, who doused the 49-year-old man with water, with saving the victim's life. The remote community of Sherridon is about 60 kilometres northeast of Flin Flon.
