Creighton Recreation will anchor down its skateboard ramps after they turned up on the other side of the border. The new $1,000 ramps, removed from the Creighton Skateboard Park a few weeks back, were recently found along the road between Wally Heights and Channing in Flin Flon. "I'm very, very happy that they're found," commented Cindy Davis, Creighton recreation director. "They're very expensive, and a lot of people did a lot of work to fundraise for them. It's really disappointing when something like that happens, so I'm extremely happy they're found." Davis said the ramps were not made stationary so that skateboarders could move them around the park in a formation of their choosing. When they are put back out next spring, they will be anchored down to prevent any future thefts. Though the metal and plastic ramps were missing for close to a month, Davis remained optimistic they would be located. "I was still hoping. I didn't think we'd find them this soon," she said. A Town of Creighton alderman informed Davis on Monday that RCMP had confirmed the ramps were outside Channing. Davis expressed her appreciation to whomever was responsible for seeing that the ramps found their way back to Creighton.
