Hapnot Collegiate's potential graduates are on the homestretch with less than two months of classes remaining in the school year, and the Hapnot Grad Committee has been working hard all year to ensure that everyone is ready for the big day. Currently, the Grad Committee is working hard to put together the script for the May 12 Fashion Show, which will be held at the school starting at 7 p.m. The theme of this year's show is Hapnot Idol, which will be a spoof of the hit Idol TV series. "All the fashions come from businesses around town," said Roberta Willetts, staff advisor. "The kids are working really hard to get the backdrop painted and finish the script. They are doing a good job. It's going to be funny - well worth the cost of admission." Also on the horizon will be a craft/rummage sale, where the grads will be selling tables to the public. No date has been set yet, but look for an announcement by the end of next week. After that, it is full steam ahead to grad. Throughout the year, the Grad Committee does quite a bit of work surrounding graduation, including the Christmas Grad Tea and Dinner Theatre. See 'Grad' P.# Con't from P.# Safe Grad takes care of the social at the Whitney Forum, but the Grad Committee are responsible for many of the other details around the ceremony, including decorations, as well as organizing the guest speaker, valedictorian and official grad song. This year's guest speaker will be Reid Simpson, and Andrew McFarlane will be the valedictorian. The grad song is Canadian Idol winner Ryan Malcolm's hit Something More. The graduation ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 29.
