The Manitoba Youth Job Centre Odd Job Squad is well underway for the summer. So far they've completed a Flower Frenzy that involved the Odd Job Squad gong to local businesses, family and friends and collecting pre-orders for flowers. There were five Odd Job Squad participants for this event, and they sold a total of 51 bouquets. The Odd Job Squad recently participated in a Window Wash that involved washing the windows of businesses within the Main Street area. In total there were 15 businesses that wanted their windows washed, which made this event a success. Some of the future plans that are coming up for the Odd Job Squad are Hire-A-Youth week from July 29 to August 2 to promote the benefits of hiring youth and students. During that week, the Odd Job Squad will host a hot dog sale that will involve the Odd Job Squad going to local businesses in Flin Flon and collecting pre-orders for hot dogs and/or drinks and delivering them to businesses on August 2. If your business would like the opportunity to take part in the hot dog sale, please contact the Manitoba Youth Job Centre at 204-687-1689 by July 25 at 3 p.m. Also, the Odd Job Squad will be doing a car wash and hopefully a Community Clean-up during Hire-A-Youth week as well. If you have any questions or concerns about any of these events or about the services the Manitoba Youth Job Centre offers, please contact Amy Bradt, officer manager, at 204-687-1689.
