The Flin Flon Minor Hockey Association and CBC are encouraging everyone to participate in Sports Day in Canada.
Flin Flon is among the communities participating in the week-long celebration of sports, including the distinctly Canadian pastime of hockey.
Events will happen in Flin Flon from Saturday, Nov. 22 until Saturday, Nov. 29.
There will be a tournament, league games, jersey day, a day to try out hockey, and an open house to celebrate Sports Day in Canada.
The coast-to-coast event will incorporate activities from various communities during the Community Engagement portion.
As of mid last week, there were over 200 communities registered to participate in this year’s Sports Day in Canada.
Jerseys will be celebrated nation-wide on Nov. 28, as fans are encouraged to wear sports memorabilia for their favourite teams.
“From municipal council chambers to office buildings and classrooms across the nation, we envision a sea of Canadians wearing their hearts on their sleeves on national Jersey Day,” read CBC’s website.
In terms of Flin Flon’s participation in Jersey Day, the Flin Flon Minor Hockey Association hopes to see jerseys in all corners of the community.
