Jonathon Naylor Editor Speed bumps and Christmas lights were on the agenda as Creighton Town Council met last week. Deputy Mayor Darren Grant said no decision has been made to install speed bumps on Creighton Avenue and Elander Street in response to speeding concerns. 'There are pros and cons to speed bumps,' he said, indicating the bumps could cause problems for ambulances and snowplows. Added Ald. Don Aasen: 'They're no good for the winter.' Deputy Mayor Grant said the speeding concerns, brought to council's attention by resident Don Raddysh, were to be discussed with the RCMP. In a recent letter, Raddysh also said stop signs were being ignored and motorists have been parking on the wrong side of the streets. He pointed out that Denare Beach has speed bumps, as do many other towns. Meanwhile, town council has purchased 15 new LED Christmas displays to go up on the light standards along Main Street this holiday season. The displays, expected to go up any day now, cost taxpayers $1,150 before taxes and shipping. They replace the town's aging Main Street displays, which have been retired following last holiday season.
