On December 19, 2003 there was a social gathering of the mayor and councillors of Creighton to honour two of their own. After 34 years at HBMS, Wilf Boychuk has retired and is leaving Creighton to start up a business in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan. Wilf served as mayor of Creighton from 1994 through to 2003. Doug Gibson, a long-time resident of Creighton spoke of Wilf's dedication to Creighton. Wilf was given the honour of receiving the Key to the Town of Creighton. This honour has never been bestowed on anyone before, and Mayor Bruce Fidler made the presentation. During the awards ceremony Wilf and with former Creighton councillor Dennis Strom were both presented with gold rings by Mayor Fidler for their three consecutive terms. The two men were thanked for the many hours they dedicated to their community.
