Sirens heard blaring from Hudbay property last week were no cause for alarm. 'We were testing the new surface plant evacuation system,' said Brad Lantz, vice-president of Hudbay's Manitoba business unit, in an e-mail. 'The sirens you heard were part of the new systems testing.' The sirens were heard for a few blocks on the afternoons of last Tuesday and Wednesday.
