The City has delayed brickwork on a section of Main St. sidewalk until next summer. Workers were originally going to reset the bricks on the sidewalk between the old Flin Flon Hotel and RBC Financial Group this summer. But with the province set to resurface the Third Ave.-First Ave.-Main St. route through town next summer, a different project took precedence. City council agreed to forward the $25,000 from the sidewalk project to the replacement of the storm sewers beneath Third Ave. Council felt it was essential to complete the storm sewers this summer so the resurfaced road would not have to be dug up. The plan is for a crew to reset the bricks next summer, likely around August, after Main St. is resurfaced. The stretch of sidewalk between the old Flin Flon Hotel and RBC Financial Group is the last section of Main St. sidewalk that has not been reset in recent years. To reset a sidewalk, workers remove the bricks, clean them, and put them back in place. This creates a more level surface and enhances the aesthetics of the sidewalk.
