Gord Evans was asked one question over and over again on Saturday Ñ When are you going to do this again? That was a common response from the nearly 500 people who stopped by the Second Annual Home Business Show at the Elks Hall, which Evans helped organize. "The response was excellent. People thought it was great," he commented. A total of 23 local home businesses had representation at the show, held as a fundraiser for the Flin Flon Elks Club. The business owners sold a variety of wares, including woodworking, wall ornaments, blankets and kitchen accessories. "I had to cancel about 20 people who wanted booths because there wasn't enough space," said Evans, the Exalted Ruler of the Elks. See 'Helping' P.# Con't from P.# A special moment during the show came when home business owner Lora Scroll presented Evans with six baby blankets for the Elks Christmas Cheer Fund. The blankets, valued at $35 each, will be distributed to needy families this holiday season. The Second Annual Home Business Show raised about $1,300 for the Elks Club. The funds will be evenly split between the Elks Fund for Children and the building fund for Elks Hall. The Elks are now about halfway completed upgrades to the Elks Hall, with a new roof and two new walls having been installed. Evans said that a new roof for the kitchen and a new south wall are still needed, and will be completed as funds permit. "We've already noticed a difference in our power bill," said Evans of the upgrades.
