Jonathon Naylor Editor Sherridon Mayor Nick Benyk has been acclaimed to another four-year term. The incumbent was the only mayoral candidate in the tiny town's Oct. 24 election. And the acclamation of councillors Chris Matheson and Larry Alm meant no one actually headed to the polls. Matheson and Alm replace councillors Eric Erickson and Donell Nice, who did not seek re-election. Due to the structure of the Sherridon council, the other two councillors _ Debi Hatch and Donna Calvert _ will not be up for election until 2014. Benyk has long been a prominent figure in Sherridon, a former mining town located 116 road kilometres northeast of Flin Flon. He owns the general store that serves the town's roughly 85 residents and he is often front and centre in any media coverage afforded to the town.
