Local residents are known for their warmth, and at Tuesday's Flin Flon Bomber game, they shared it Ñ literally. Fans attending the match-up at the Whitney Forum donated about 100 winter jackets, sweaters and other cozy clothing articles to a program for children and adults in need. "The response was unreal. It was very nice," commented Katie Kawerski, who along with Jill Rideout collected donations for the program, fittingly titled Share the Warmth. The generosity filled eight garbage bags with warm clothing. People who require these items may stop by the Flin Flon Indian-Metis Friendship Centre between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. The clothing is being handed out at no charge in a discreet manner. Donations are still welcome and may be dropped off at the Friendship Centre during business hours. Share the Warmth is an effort of the Aboriginal Headstart program, the Flin Flon Indian-Metis Friendship Centre, the Parent-Child Initiative, and the Flin Flon Community Youth Resource Centre. This is the annual program's fourth year.
