On, Saturday, Sept. 11, the International Peace Garden, located south of Boissevain on the Canada-U.S. border, will hold a special ceremony at 11 a.m. to mark the 2001 attacks in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. "Given the events happening in the world today both at home and abroad, it is important for all of us never to forget that peace is fragile and must be treasured and protected every day," said Premier Doer. As part of the ceremony, Headlines of History will be unveiled, a striking exhibit that features the front pages of 31 U.S. and 19 overseas newspapers reporting on the events of Sept. 11, 2001, including bold headlines, dramatic color photographs and detailed text. A unique monument constructed with remnants of wreckage from the World Trade Centre Towers has been created to recognize the shared pain of those tragic events.
