A Pelican Narrows man who fatally punched another man on the reserve will serve two years after pleading guilty to manslaughter, the Prince Albert Daily Herald reports.
Blaine Charles, now 23, was originally charged with second-degree murder in the December 2014 death of Wilfred Brent Sewap, 38.
Charles was sentenced earlier this month. According to the Daily Herald, court heard that during an altercation in a bedroom of a residence, Charles punched Sewap and caused him to fall and strike his head against an open stud on the wall.
The Crown prosecutor and the defence lawyer made a joint submission that Charles should serve two years in prison, the newspaper reported.
