Selinger pledges support for road upgrades near Snow Lake, Moose Lake

The Manitoba government has pledged $1 million to improve provincial roads near Snow Lake and Moose Lake.

The Manitoba government has pledged $1 million to improve provincial roads near Snow Lake and Moose Lake.

Premier Greg Selinger made the announcement Monday, marking the first wave of road improvements funded by fees companies pay when they truck overweight cargo on provincial roads.

The Trucking Produc-tivity Improvement Fund (TPIF), as it’s known, will fund $250,000 worth of improvements to PR 392, PR 393 and PR 395 near Snow Lake, and $750,000 for improvements and repairs to PR 384, also known as Moose Lake Road.

In The Pas for the announcement, Selinger called the TPIF an “important partnership” to repair roads companies use to haul loads above weight limits to boost productivity.
