A group of Manitoba seniors is calling for a ban on the exportation of prescription drugs from Canada, saying the practice threatens to raid the country's medicine cabinet. The Manitoba Society of Seniors has joined several other organizations in lobbying for an end to Canada's Internet pharmacies, which have many American clients looking to save money on their drug bills. Collectively known as the Canadian Treatment Action Council and Best Medicines Coalition, the groups claim to represent 10 million people, including seniors, patients and pharmacies. "Our system would quickly be overwhelmed and Canadians would pay the price for our government allowing the U.S. to raid our medicine cabinet," spokesperson Louise Binder told the Canadian Press.
