A 32-year-old woman has been reported missing from Pelican Narrows. Sheenalyn Sewap was last seen in the community May 19.

Saskatchewan RCMP issued a missing persons alert for Sewap May 23, saying that she has not been spotted since last week on Linklater Street in Pelican Narrows.

"Since she was reported missing, Pelican Narrows RCMP have been checking places Sheenalyn is known to visit and following up on information received," reads a Saskatchewan RCMP media release.

"They are now asking members of the public to report information on Sheenalyn’s whereabouts."

Sewap is described as about 5-foot-5 in height and around 110 pounds with medium-length brown hair and brown eyes. She normally wears glasses and was last seen wearing a red sweater, blue jeans and holding a purple blanket. In an updated statement provided May 25, RCMP released a photo of Sewap shortly before she was last seen - she had a freshly shaven head and did not have the blanket with her.

"Investigators continue to follow up on information received and are searching areas Sheenalyn may be. Community search and rescue groups are also searching the Pelican Narrows area for her," reads the updated statement.

Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation (PBCN) issued a statement on Sewap's disappearance May 23, saying that Sewap was last seen at the Charles Confectionery Store in Pelican Narrows. The band requested that people living in Pelican Narrows search their homes, yards, outbuildings or crawlspaces and that people tie up or secure their dogs while searches went on. Search and rescue with PBCN and the Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC)

Anyone with information on Sewap's whereabouts is asked to call Pelican Narrows RCMP at (306) 632-3300, to contact Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (1-800-222-8477) or at saskcrimestoppers.ca, or to contact a local RCMP detachment.
