Dan Boily, president of the Flin Flon District Scouting, made a couple of special presentations on Monday, March 14. Brent Grocholski was awarded the Medal of Merit for good services to Scouting. Over the years Brent has been a BeaverÊor a Cub Leader, and for a time held both positions with the 5th Group. Brent started as an Assistant Cub Leader with the 5thÊPack in 1987. For the past 18 years he has worked hard for the 5th and District Events.Ê He has been chairman of the 5th Popcorn Sales and organized Sand Bag fundraisers.Ê Brent also helps at Kub Kar runoffs, Winter Cubbing, and Area Cub Camp Weekend, as well as being the organizer for Beaverees.Ê Over the years Brent has been honoured by Scouts Canada for: 1997 - Long Service Medal 1993 - Certificate of Commendation 1998 - Medal of Good Service 2002 - 15 Year Service Pin 2005 - Medal of Merit. Sharon Grocholski was awarded the Scout Association 25 Year Service Pin and Certificate. Sharon became involved with Scouts Canada in 1979 when she became active with the 5th Group Committee.Ê Since 1985 until now, Sharon has been the Rental Hall person for the Birchview Scout Hall and on Monday nights can be found at the Scout Hall assisting Brent with Beavers. Sharon also works with the Girl Guides. In 1992 she became a Resource Brownie Leader and in 1994 became a Sparks Leader. Sharon has been awarded Scouting Awards as follows: 1989 - 10 Year Medal 1991 - Certificate of Commendation 2001 - 5th Group Committee Certificate of Appreciation 2002 - Girl Guide Silver Merit Award.
